Yet again St Neots RUFC is targeted by vandals

St Neots Rugby club members are becoming increasingly frustrated after a spate of break in's at their community hub.

Vandals struck again at the club on Tuesday 16th October. Once again forcing padlocks on the clubs outside storage containers which have been the target of repeated attacks.

Club Chairman Wayne Huttley said "the club is spending funds repairing damaged locks and doors which could being better spent on providing sporting opportunities for the town's residents".

Mr Huttley said "The containers are used for storage of rugby equipment such as tackle shields, there is nothing of any value to anyone outside of the rugby community.
These incidents are a mindless acts which have a big impact on our club and its members especially in terms of repair bills."

Club Director of Rugby Tommy McCollin said" The club has a junior membership of 350 children from the area, it's a sad state of affairs when these individuals are seeking to target an organisation which provides recreational facilities for the benefit of young children. Instead of investing in opportunities to provide better facilities for the kids we are spending money on repairs and better security".

The club is now seeking to improve its security measures and requests that local residents and its members are vigilant to any suspicious activity at the site.

The incidents have also been reported to police who have responded with a pledge of heightened patrols at the location.
