And that's 11 games in a row!

The St.Neots Ladies ended their season on a high winning their 11th game in a row and completing their 6 month winning streak.

The ladies traveled away to Welwyn on Sunday 14th April to play their last game of the season. With a few girls making their debuts and a couple of ladies returning to the field following injury they meant business.

Showing what they were made of from the start, the Saints's impactful play meant they were quick off the mark with a powerful run off the scrum by Number 8 Lauren Clayton, who crossed the line to make the score 5 - 0 to St.Neots.

Strong counter rucking by Welwyn saw them take control of the ball but a chase down by Emily Miller, and a try saving tackle, meant they weren't able to get the points they desired. However, an unfortunate penalty gave Welwyn the possession they needed to force their way over the try-line for their first points of the game, 5-5.

Welywn then turned up the heat putting pressure on the Saints defense, but a few mistakes meant that the Saint's Ladies soon had the ball back in hand. Powerful forward movements by Megan Thody and Katie Bills meant that the ball was smoothly recycled though the back line reaching Leah Coombes, who made a beautiful step and found Kirsty Wilson who scored under the posts making the score 10-5 to St.Neots.

Before the half time whistle blew Saints still have some left in the tank. With a series of great plays the ball found Robyn Hopewell who brushed off three defenders to pop the ball to Nicki Barker who had timed her run perfectly to cross the line with ease, 15-5.

Welwyn responded with a fast paced try under the posts making the score 15 -12.

Weaving in and out of defense and making some superb steps, Charlotte Armitage scored a well deserved try under the post to push St.Neots further into the lead, and Beth Robinson added the extras, 22 -12.

Going into the second half, centre Kirsty Wilson span out of Welwyn's defensive grip to score her second try on the match, taking St.Neots to 27 - 12. Not to be out done, Welwyn's centre sprinted down the pitch and was just able to reach for the line as Miller made a remarkable attempt to stop her. Welwyn converted taking the score to 19 - 22.

Minutes before the full-time whistle, the whole team pulled together hitting back at Welwyn's defensive line, with play-book moves they found Scrum Half Emily Miller who crossed the line in style. Miller added the extras making the final score to 34 - 19.
