? Membership & Bar Pricing Update
We wanted to keep all our members up to date on some changes we’re making to simplify how memberships and bar discounts work this season. Over the past year, we’ve had the tricky task of managing membership renewals alongside the bar discount card system. After reviewing how it works in practice, we’re proposing to remove the need for the discount cards and instead members pricing automatically at the bar will be applied at the point of sale by the bar staff rather than needing to have your previous discount card with you.
This means you’ll no longer need to show a card – or ask around to find one – to get your member discount! The new system will be introduced in the next couple of weeks, once the till software has been updated. Please note that for non-club events and private functions, a different pricing structure applies. Members will continue to receive a 15% discount when booking the club, but bar discounts will not apply during these events.
Our goal is to make life easier for everyone — reducing admin work for staff and volunteers while keeping drink prices around 15% below function pricing and still well below most local pub prices (though we’ll admit, we can’t quite beat the Gash!).
We’ll continue to be affected by brewery and duty price increases, which are outside our control, but we’ll always aim to offer great value for our members. As always, we’d love your feedback on this change — please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Finally, a quick reminder:
✅ Memberships must be renewed to play rugby this season.
? No membership = no rugby.
We’ll be checking this carefully, so please make sure you’re up to date! Thanks for your continued support,
St Neots Rugby Club Executive Committee
