RFU Update On Tackle Height Laws

Confirmation of changes from 1st June 2023

Following a general outcry after the RFU announced law changes to tackle height at the beginning of the year, there has since been a lot of behind-the-scenes work done at HQ to review the recommendations. A full report is on the RFU page here
The essential basics are that no area above the base of the sternum should be contacted in the tackle, including if the tackle starts lower and moves higher than this.
The RFU press release has just been issued, please allow the club and coaching teams a little time to assess the implications of this announcement in all its guises. Rest assured that the club will follow the directives issued by the RFU and these law changes will be allowed for in the new season of training.

In the off season, it might be a good idea to practice doing everything in the tower of power and split-squat positions....
