On a bitterly cold day St Neots travelled to Aylestone St James Rugby Club. For League game.
St Neots from early on got the scoreboard moving. A number of red balls saw Raf Magana go over for a well worked try. This was converted.
Dean Terreblanche then scored off a turnover ball with good hands and the score was 12-0.
Dean quickly added another. Soon Aidan Jordan scored off a break from Rory Dingemans. Making breaks and looking for support became the order of the day ,James Larman and Aidan both then scored with two being converted.
Then the try of the day came from Rhod Howcroft the biggest man of the pitch made a break, sensing the line was a long way away swapped his size 15s for a pair of ballet shoes. Then with light feet feet jabbed the ball through the gap. Owen Farrell would have been proud. The crowd swooned. Rhod then continued to glide forward on the pitch. Taking the pass and scoring. Even his dive over the line had a Tom Daley feel to it.
The scoring continued with Rory. Half time came and Larman and George Osborne both scored. This was followed by a try from Rory but not before he had turned each defender inside out twice. George scored again followed by Larman.
The entertainment for the afternoon not to be out done Rhod stuck his hand up again making a break down the right, after 5 meters you could be forgiven for thinking he had run out of puff. Actually he was changing into his spikes and then ran down the wing like a gazelle scoring in the corner.
The final score was 91-0. Playing as a unit with good defence and selfless play summed up the performance, with Lewis Hall epitomising this making break after break before looking for his support and passing.
St Neots were well hosted by Alylestone St James.
15 tries and 8 conversions. Though it was bitterly cold the coat kept PD nice and snug.
