A Strong Heathens side traveled to March to face a seemingly well drilled Bears side. winning the toss and electing to kick off, Heathens quickly showed strength and power, turning the ball over and gaining a penalty. McCollin put the ball into the corner and some Great Line out work from Mike Reynolds gave a platform for Heathens to crash over through McCollin from close range, Dan Hill added the extras, 7 nil Heathens withing 4 minutes. Scoring early seemed to be to the detriment of the Heathens as, after such an explosive start, they failed to gain a foothold in the game and conceded field position and tries all to easily. A spark for the heathens was the Back row work of Jack Baxter and Sam Buckingham and the midfield partnership of McCollin and Porter. Heathens came close numerous times but couldn't quite convert leading to an enjoyable but tough day at the office . Although a resounding defeat, the positives of being able to have a strong second team out week after week is a credit to the club and as always a pleasure to pull a shirt on alongside lads with so much heart.
