St Neots U13s produced a performance full of heart against St Ives this weekend. Despite a 9-4 defeat, the team showed massive improvement, adapting to several positional switches due to player absences.
The team started with real intent, Nathan going close after a 50m break. The first half was a tight affair (3-3), with Ed and Riley combining well in unfamiliar positions and Max’s quick distribution creating space for Mason. The pressure from St Neots' kick-off chase was a particular highlight, repeatedly forcing St Ives into errors.
Although the visitors pulled away in the second half, St Neots kept fighting. Miles was rewarded for his powerful running with the team’s final try. It was a spirited display that gives the squad plenty of positives.
