SNRUFC Ladies 0 – PRUFC Ladies 36
On Saturday 4th September, St.Neots Ladies returned to the common, ahead of their season kicking off later this month, in a friendly against Peterborough Ladies Rugby Team.
Peterborough, who are firmly in the league above, started off strong with their forward pods scoring a couple of times out wide, despite a resilient defensive effort by the Ladies in blue - including cracking tackles from forwards of the match Nicki Barker and Chloe Bawden.
As the game progressed, St.Neots Ladies continued to grow as a unit, putting into practice technical moves and new plays that they've been developing over the last month during pre season.
In spite of a dominating scrum, line out and speedy backs, the St Neots Ladies were unfortunately unable to break through Peterborough's tough defence to score.
Looking ahead, the Ladies will learn from this experience and continue to evolve into a fierce side ahead of their first league game on the 26th September against Biggleswade.
Sion James, Coach, said: “Despite a slow start, we grew with confidence the longer the game went on and began to find our patterns and rhythm that gave us both good territory and more possession."
Johnny Mo, Coach, said: "Seeing as this is only our second game for quite a while we are starting to look like a good team with our new players fitting in nicely."
